RECYCLING HERITAGE

Juan Tur is an architect graduated at the ETSAM-UPM in 2005, with fifteen years of experience in the design and implementation of large-scale urban transformations, with a special focus con public space and landscape design. He is Associate Professor in the Design Studio Department at the School of Architecure of Madrid (ETSAM), co-director of the Workshop for Advanced Urbanism at the Master in Architecture of the Nebrija University, and Workshop Adjunt professor at the Master in Collective Housing (MCH) of the ETSAM. He has lectured in numerous universities in Spain (ETSAM, IE University Nebrija University, UCJC, Syracuse University ESDA), Portugal and Russia. Professionally, after working for four years on the design and construction of the Madrid RIO Manzanares Park, with Burgos & Garrido and the Dutch office of WEST 8, he became in 2009, project manager for the Dutch firm. 
Since then, he has been active leading and coordinating the design and construction of numerous world-class urban regeneration projects in Spain (like Parc de la Sagrera-Sant Andreu in Barcelona) and abroad, (New Holland Island, Saint Petersburg) that integrate landscape, infrastructure and urban design into a holistic solution. Alongside his activity with WEST 8, he founded in 2012 his own practice, WALK Architecture & Landscape, an award-winning practice in severa! international competitions, among which is the first prize in the Europan 09 Gyor, Hungary, in 2008, the Masterplan for the Artists Residential Community in Nikola Lenivets, Russia in 2012, and the Masterplan for a new Innovation District in Oviedo,2017. His work has been exhibited and published in media international and national.
