Bjarke Ingels Group is a Copenhagen, New York, Barcelona and London based group of architects, engineers, designers, builders, and thinkers operating within the fields of architecture, urbanism, landscape, engineering, research, and development. BIG’s architecture emerges out of a careful analysis of how contemporary life constantly evolves and changes. Not least due to the influence from multicultural exchange, global economical flows and communication technologies that all together require new ways of architectural and urban organization.
As Senior Landscape Architect at BIG, Giulia heads the landscape design approach by bringing focus to urban and natural systems, questioning and rethinking the traditional approach to public spaces and city planning. Giulia joined BIG in 2017 as project lead for the design of Islais Hyper-Creek proposal for the Resilient by Design competition, exploring solutions to adapt and protect the Bay Area from environmental risks. Among her most relevant work, Toyota Woven City that investigates how recent technologies will shape the future of cities, in relation to new forms of mobility, sustainability, ecology and human connectivity.
