nei seguenti campi:

- saper delineare strategie innovative per la progettazione di edifici “rinnovabili” destinati a riciclare e a essere riciclati in un processo continuo e circolare di trasformazione di spazi e di componenti edilizi;

saper riconoscere e utilizzare tecnologie reversibili e disassemblabili;

- saper utilizzare materiali e progettare spazi che impieghino il minor spreco di energia;

- saper utilizzare e interpretare con capacità critica le recenti normative riferite ai CAM (Criteri Ambientali Minimi) come requisiti di base per delineare scenari compatibili con le nuove sfide ambientali;

nell’ambito di una metodologia progettuale orientata al progetto di upcycling;

WORKSHOP

I 3 workshop (luglio, gennaio, febbraio), pensati insieme a Symbola, prevedono 2 settimane consecutive in presenza.

MASTERCIRCUL | AR Circular Architecture: Shapes and Methodologies

“I want NextGenerationEU to kickstart a European renovation wave and make our Union a leader in the circular economy. But this is not just an environmental or economic project: it needs to be a new cultural project for Europe. Every movement has its own look and feel. And we need to give our systemic change its own distinct aesthetic – to match style with sustainability. This is why we will set up a new European Bauhaus – a co-creation space where architects, artists, students, engineers, designers work together to make that happen”. (State of the Union Address by President von der Leyen at the European Parliament Plenary - 16 September 2020)

APRIL 2021 /MARCH 2022

GOALS

In just a few years the effects of climate change on the planet have become evident. The awareness of their consequenceson human health is today fueled by evidence that, gradually in the last decades, has generated concern, but also new policies and new approaches towards environmental change, especially in Europe. Among the sustainability aims underlying these policies, the rationalization of the use of natural resources is highly strategic. With specific reference to the construction field, there is today a new focus on building materials and the impacts deriving from their extraction, use, production, installation and disposal. In the frame of a desirable building culture oriented to the principles of circular economy, the theme of innovative use of waste materials in construction is, therefore, one of the most advanced sustainability objectives; an objective requiring new skills, but that on the other side promotes the creation of new markets as well as new "creative" possibilities for architectural design.

The Master is intended as a link between the training and the profession. Integrating the knowledge of those who have dealt with the world of architecture, engineering and design, the Master aims to form a figure of designer/expert who wants to compete with an idea of architecture resulting entirely from the valorization of new or used spaces and materials, aimed at being renewable, natural, biobased, recyclable and reusable also in sectors other than the original one, through a circularupcycling process.

SKILLS

The professional figure that you intend to train will have specific skills in the following fields:

• Know how to outline innovative strategies for the design of "renewable" buildings, destined to recycle and be recycled in a continuous and circular process of transformation of spaces and building components.
• Being able to recognize and use reversible and disassemblable technologies.
• Know how to use materials and design spaces that entail a minimal waste of energy.
• Know how to use and interpret with critical capacity the recent regulations referring to CAM (Minimum

Environmental Criteria) as basic requirements to outline scenarios compatible with the new environmental challenges.
• Know how to use some complex parametric and computational design tools at a basic level in the context of a project methodology oriented to the upcycling project.
• Know how to use some interface software packages for the production with digital fabrication techniques of building components.
