International Student Architectural Competition UIA-HYP CUP 2019

The Tianjin University School of Architecture and Chinese media company, Urban Environmental Design (UED), have launched the eighth edition of the 2019 UIA-HYP Cup, an annual, open international competition for architecture students from all over the world. The competition is organised with the support of the UIA.

COMPETITION THEME

Created in 2012, the overall theme of this annual competition is architecture in transformation. For the 2019 edition, Benedetta Tagliabue, jury chair, has chosen the topic "Happy Spaces - Integrating Architecture and Landscape".

Participants can choose the location of their projects in a degraded urban area, preferably on the periphery (anywhere in the world). The site shall include a construction area and its environment.  It must improve the environment and benefit the surrounding community.
